Artificial sperm are at your fingertips

Researchers at the Gordon Institute at the University of Cambridge hold the cell between the stem cell and the sperm. It is estimated that within a decade, they will be capable of supporting artificial sperm.

As reported by the Index, English scientists have come closer to providing artificial sperm: they have created miniature artificial testicles (Gonad organoids). Experiments have succeeded in advancing meiosis, a developmental and proliferative process leading to the development of gametes. In meiosis, from the embryonic cell state, the ovum and the sperm develop uniformly until week 8, at which time the two germ cells dissolve. Knowledge is at the top of the 8-week cycle - so far, the process has been artificially tracked. It is hoped that within a decade we will be able to supply the appropriate quality of artificial sperm. Although law prohibits the use of artificial egg and germ cells in Great Britain for the time being, it is believed that scientific results will help to change regulation.Artificial sperm are at your fingertips

The scientists are working on it

Already in 2009, the cheese was loud about producing artificial sperm. However, the male germ cell produced by researchers in England did not yet meet the criteria. Japanese researchers also experimented in 2013: in experiments on mice, they transformed from embryonic cells to small mice conceived with artificial sperm. In 2016, there was also a successful mouse experiment: Chinese sperms were produced in 2014 to meet sperm requirements, and they were used to successfully fertilize them.

More and more men are looking unproductive

According to surveys, the number of fertilized sperm has decreased from one to one in the last 100 years. This can be caused by a number of things, ranging from a sedentary lifestyle to stress. The trend is world-wide. About 20-25 percent of the couples are affected by infertility. In 40 to 40 percent of the cases, the man and the woman are responsible for the childbirth, and in 20 percent there is something wrong with both. In the case of couples that do not use fertilizing sperm for the flask procedure, artificial sperm may provide a solution.Other important articles about male infertility are:
